Had a sticking rear brake on my 79, ended up being ancient grease lubing the foot lever pivot gone stiff. All the other tips are very correct.

I am at a 132.5 main jet and a 50 idle jet. Electric choke disconnected and adjusted to be completely open at all times.

Once fully warm, I get a nice idle just a touch over 1Krpm.

Didnt like a low rpm stumble that came with the 45 idle jet, didnt bother checking mileage.
Installed a 50 idle jet today, stumbles at low rpm slightly when cold, but smooths out after it warms up....
