Tried spraying carb cleaner at base of carbs etc. not quite sure if vacuum leak exists but I'm guessing most of the lines under the heat mat are pretty soft and worn so...

Quite sure-though I'm planning to replace it anyway. Originally when bike came to me the only leak I saw was fuel in the tray that surrounds the gas cap and dribbling out the drain hose for the tray....

To be honest I'm not even sure exactly what it is but it's tied to a drain. I meant vent as in the case of a gas can vent allowing smoother flow of gas out of the can. Perhaps sort of like an open...
