Moving GL1500 Around

Hi All
I've had my wing for 15 years now & have never had any problems moving my bike around my drive or in & out off the garage. But recently i have found the weight of the bike a lot more...

Don't worry about the two tubes at the back of the alternator, we are all supossed to have them .It's a good idea to pull them out of their retaining ring and push them to the back out of the way so...

Dont throw it away, keep it as a spare and ride with it in the side box.

I now have two alts on my bike .

It gives me great peace of mind.

Its a must to fit a volt meter on the 1500.

You have all the symptoms of the Alternator packing in . You may be lucky it may only be the brushes but I would put my money on the Alternator.

12ooo miles and my new alt packed in.

I had them...

Bet its the alternator - I now ride with two.
One on the bike & one in the side box.
It would only take me 20 mins max to change over now that I have messed...

I did not connect straight to battery as I wanted it to come on with the ignition.
You can take it off the bike and use it on your car it takes about 1 minute to remove & set up.

Bit of lateral thinking how about fitting a small 12 volt fan low down to blow cool air under engin .
Cheep experiment that might just work or is this a way out daft idea.
