Question: Can 80-81 Mainshaft gears be used to mesh with 82-83 Countershaft gears?

My mechanic swapped my main shaft with one out of a motor he had laying around instead of pressing the bearings...

Bikes fixed.
Second/third counter shaft gear, second gear side, chewed on edge.
Shifter fork bent.

Floorboards and heel/toe come off first day off without rain.

First thing I did when I got home.

Thanks Paul! Not the news I wanted to hear but I think you are right. On all counts. I like the H/T because there's little room for my #12s between the peg and shifter but without any feel the gears...
