  1. GL1200 Radio Cover

    Goldwing Technical Forum
So, it's a radio cover... Didn't realize that. You could probably make one easier than finding a new one.
  2. Long, lonely stretches of highway. Let's see them.

    Miscellaneous Forum
That road is northwest of Phoenix and there is no way you could ride it on a 2-up GL. It's a challenge one up on a dirt bike. There are several good roads through the desert though. Many in the same area that are a delight on a 'Wing.

I haven't seen one of those in a long time, but Sierra still sells theirs.
  4. I believe Blown head gasket

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Should be able to find a valve on eBay or at Bob's. 602-2434241 or 602-437-3148 Look at the part numbers to make sure what years interchange. The seat can probably be lapped.
  5. GL1200 engine, components needed to run stand alone?

    General Motorcycle Discussion Forum
Starter relay, by the battery. ECM, above the coils. And the coils. And most of the wiring that connects those things. I'm sure someone here will be able to add to the list, or be more detailed. The carbs can be gravity fed.

??? Make up your mind.
  7. 84' GL1200 engine rebuild

    Goldwing Technical Forum
So, you don't even know if the motor will run? All things considered, I'd go looking for a ridable bike. Really.
  8. Big brother?

    Miscellaneous Forum
Some might say "operating a camera while riding seems dangerous".
  9. Couple of issues

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Sometimes dirty switches can cause some strange, intermittent problems.

  11. Big brother?

    Miscellaneous Forum
There are lots of neighborhoods in this country where trying to keep track of criminals would quickly overload the system. I live in one of them.

Considering how everything else has changed, do you really expect anything to be done right?
  13. Ever start something you wish you hadn't?

    Miscellaneous Forum
It does look good. Nice when the work pays off, huh?
  14. Couple of issues

    Goldwing Technical Forum
The Progressives are air shocks and include all the hoses and pieces you need to fill them from a standard air (Schrader) valve. With the weight you're talking they really are your best bet. Really.
  15. Couple of issues

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Hi. For the shocks, Progressive is the answer. Don't count on your bike's compressor to air them up, but it's pretty easy to fill them manually. 400 pounds is a lot for a 12. The speed, blinkers and brake lights may be related but we may need more details.
  16. car radio

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Pretty much any radio today will have the SD, MP3 and USB ports and there's not much to learn. Just load your music on to a thumb drive and plug it into the USB port, the radio will let you control what to play.
  17. car radio

    Goldwing Technical Forum
First, welcome. No radio? Wow, what's in the space where the radio used to be? There was a guy who built a rack to hold a single din radio in that hole, and I think he even tied it in to the handlebar switches. It didn't look easy. Try doing a search. The CD player is a relic these days...
