Dave, I looked through the stuff you have sent me and didn't find it.
  2. GL1500 Color Wiring Diagram

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Great job! Thank you so much Erd!
  3. GL1500 Rear Brake Rotor

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Depending on how you apply your brakes will dictate how well you may feel about letting the front or the back go for a while. Since I started primarily trail breaking, yes even in turns, with front brakes the back set should last a very long time.
  4. Squeaking from front - wheel bearings?

    Goldwing Technical Forum
I would dare say you know a WHOLE LOT more than many others!
  5. Rear brake failure

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Interesting topic, but I rode The Dragon early in September so I'll give myself permission to chime in. I had been fortunate to have done a considerable amount of working on trail braking (with the front brake only) as well "delayed apex" on curves. I did not use my rear brake once on the...
  6. GL1500 SE Handlebar Switches (on an Aspencade)

    General Motorcycle Discussion Forum
Good info Dave. I didn't know they were different.
  7. Wanted bluetooth headsets

    For Sale/Wanted Forum
When I use "Hey Siri", or make a call home the mic works fine. I have never really been able to get "Hey Cardo" to work, but it is my understanding that they are installing new software in the Community website.
  8. polish

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Interesting! I was not aware that petroleum based products were not good for plastics. I have purchased several cans of "Pig Snot" and even though they look nice at first the shine doesn't last long.
  9. GL1500 Front Brake Lever Binding

    Goldwing Technical Forum
My front brake lever would not pull smoothly through its travel, so I pulled the lever cleaned the brass bushing it with my pistol cleaning wire brush, cleaned the entire area with basic cleaning stuff, put white lithium grease on every metal to metal contact point. It's so smooth now I can...
  10. GL1500 Parts Search (Tip)

    General Motorcycle Discussion Forum
Dave is darned near supernatural regarding parts and differences of them through the years. He has helped me so many times I tell people ("I believe he can recite the color of wire going into and out of every connection on every Wing...right off the top of his head")
  11. New owner of a gl 1500

    New Members Introduction Forum
dbohrer speaks the truth! Lots of talented minds here regarding 99. I have drained their collective brains more that once on my 99, and before that the 88.
  12. Wanted bluetooth headsets

    For Sale/Wanted Forum
I have bought these and like them so far. https://https://www.cardosystems.com/shop/packtalk-bold/
  13. 1988 Goldwing For Sale

    For Sale/Wanted Forum
That is a great price! I sold my 88 a few years ago for $3500 but, other than my strong suggestion that he get the front brake rotors replaced, it had no maintenance issues. Good luck!

  15. Gasket substitute?

    Goldwing Technical Forum
I just don't want any crap getting inside the covers that could mess up the timing belts.
  16. Gasket substitute?

    Goldwing Technical Forum
I ordered a can. Thanks. Still looking for more options.
  17. Gasket substitute?

    Goldwing Technical Forum
Due to scheduling circumstances, I can only get to replacing my timing belts next week and the 2 gaskets that I ordered for the covers are delayed in shipment. Has anyone had success with using a product like Formagasket or anything else that won't end up gluing the parts together so I will...
  18. Cracks in trunk lid.

    Goldwing Technical Forum
In my humble opinion, Oatey 30916/7/8/ or 9 Extra Special Cement is the best stuff to use on ABS. Especially if the piece you are repairing flexes. Rule of thumb for me; if it sees twisting force use OESC, if it doesn't you can use almost anything. Epoxy, JBWeld, normal ABS clue...etc
  19. 1500 Headlight Question

    Goldwing Technical Forum
I went to LEDs on mine, and every group ride I go on at least one person asks about them, are they hard to install and how much are they.
  20. Tires
