Candy Spectra Red
Trike conversion done in 2000,trailer hitch
My Stepdad owned this from 1994 to 1996 when he passed away. My mom owned her own,but sold it after stepdad's death keeping his for sentimental reasons. She rode it as a two wheel bike until 2000 when she decided it safer to ride with a trike conversion done to it. She was 67 yrs old. As longtime members of GWRRA,Mom stayed with her friends to keep doing what she and my stepdad loved so much in their life to do together, not allowing his death to keep her from continuing her love of riding. My stepdad would have wanted her to continue in this life of riding the bike with their many friends. In 2008 she began developing symptoms of Dementia/Alzheimers and it caused her to have to stop riding. She was 75 yrs old at this time. Had it not been for that horrible disease and colon cancer in 2009,she'd still be riding it. She left it for me in her Will. She had asked me years ago if I'd like to have it one day. I didn't hesitate to answer. So, in Oct of 2011, I lost my awesome, wonderful "Triker" Mom. I just began riding it along with my husband. We both took the Sidecar/Trike class June 7th & 8th and got our "3" endorsements. I ride it almost everywhere now and am VERY proud to be continuing the life Mom loved so much. She is now my passenger, always with me everytime I get on!!
