Just got back from what I believe was a heck of a trip. Maybe the route planner ( me ) was a little overly ambitious on this one but time was limited andwe wanted to see as much as possible. Wife had never been to Canada so here we go.
Traveled in:
Texas ( home )
Oklahoma
Kansas
Missouri
Iowa
Minnesota
South Dakota
North Dakota
Montana
Wyoming
Colorado
Winnipeg and Saskatchewan, Canada
Went through Deadwood and Sturgis. Saw Mt. Rushmore.
Got lost briefly in Montana and added about 200 miles to that day.
Observations from the trip. ( Not to be taken too seriously ):
Riders in Minnesota don't wave to each other much.
A lot of Harley riders dress funny.
There's lots of bugs in Colorado.
Dunlop Elite 3's are sweet tires.
It's fun to listen to the different accents as you travel.
Mt. Rushmore wasn't as big as I expected. I wanted the heads to be bigger I guess.
Deadwood is acool little town.
Lovely roads around Deadwood too.
Riding a bike makes it easier to meet people and have random conversations.
There are places I wondered if you could get mail delivery. So far off the grid.
Farms and ranches so big it boogles my mind.
Saw some buffalo.
Fargo........Yah, you betcha.
I wish I could live in a lot of the areas we visted. Especially the small towns with the un-rushed attitudes.
Secondary roads beat Interstates hands down.
I always enjoy Canada.
There are more friendly people than grouches.
This United States of America isa pretty great country.
Thanks for reading my ramblings.
Party on,
Andy
