87 Appy brake light on all the time, even with brake switches disconnected. With the fuse for tail lights removed all is well, brake lights work properly. Followed Clymers instructions for brake/ tail relay. Took false tank off, looked for relay, nothing there where it should be. No empty connectors. All is stock except for pulsing brake light in trunk. It flashes about 5-6 times before staying steady. Any suggestions????
Thanks:

I've seen this one before. If they work fine when you pull the tail lights, then you have a short in one of the bulbs or the bulb holder. Pull one bulb at a time and see if that fixes it. I've seen situations where the two filaments in the bulb tip together and cause similar issues.

If Noman's recommendation doesn't do it, then it's most likely a roughed up spot in the harness, look for any chafes.

The lads are right, it's got to be a short between the poles in the bulbs or in the wires them selves.
