I've had a lot of bikes, including a GL1500.. Went back to the GL1200.. It's going to stay with me for a long long time.. Great bike.. No problems other than the uncomfortable seat..

It's one of the best Gold Wings ever built...

Flyboy.. (I like that),, The seats on these bikes (1200's) were not improved until 1987, and then, at best, you still needed to get your "iron butt" before making any long trips. I believe Corbin produces the most comfortable seat for the bikes of that vintage. I just took a trip to Wash DC (1100 miles round trip in two days) on my 1200 and believe me, my butt was screaming with pain.

The 1500's were a big improvement, but by today's standards, they were just as tough to mold into for a long ride..

I have not heard one complaint about the 1800 seats.. Seems like Honda got it right finally...
