I love the styling and comfort of my 1200, have owned from Triumph Trophy 250, Harleys, to many others, I suppose time will tell, maintenance will play a key factor as well as accepting it as a 25 yr old bike.

I'll run my 85 ltd til it can't run no more. It's got just shy of 90,000 miles on it and the biggest thing I had to do was the poor boy conversion (having all the vinyl redone this year). Other than that, I've just done the regular maintenance things you'd do with any bike. I've always liked the styling of the 1200 and finally got one. As old as it is and for as many miles as it's got, I've got no qualms about leaving for any distination with it and confident it'll get me back home. And it sets out a lot in all weather under a bike cover. I only get it up to the storage garage once it starts snowing or gets icy. So,ya, I trust the Japanese technology. Planning on riding from Pittsburgh, PA to Valley City, ND in June with it this year. It'll do that trip as easily now as when it was new. I kjnow of other 1200's with higher mileage than mine and still going strong.

By the way, how did a post from 2005 get this going?

Oh well, Late R guys and gals.........
