Sure sounds like the epoxy in the alternator scenario. May have been the starter sprag clutch but your test kind of eliminated that.



Sure would be nice to know the cause. But glad you are back running.:applause::applause:

Trust me...it's driving me nuts. My mechanic thinks dry cylinder walls or dry bearing. His concern was cracking a ring once it broke loose but smoking would have been the results so I dodged that concern.

It's just the way it happened that seems strange. Locking up when I hit the gear?? Just coincedence??
Easy does it for a while but it feels great to be back on it.
