1200 goldwing digital dash

guys and ladies, need a little help. have a 1984 aspencade that digital dash is flickering on. and am having trouble figureing out how the 84- 87 models will interchange, looking at the wiring harnesses.

1st. is 84 moel 84 Honda Goldwing GL1200 Digital Gauges Working!! 85 86 87 Aspencade

2nd is 85 model but suppose to interchange

85 GL1200 Goldwing LTD Digital Speedometer Tachometer Gauges Instrument Cluster

notice where the taillight read out is. it's on opposite sides.
my question really is can the circut boards be swapped out? thank you for any assistance
need to say, everything works on this dash but it just flickers all the time

As you can see the electrical connections are entirely different, I doubt you could swap any internal parts between the year models. Have you checked all the connections for corrosion?

have checked for corrosion, but will try some elec. cleaner before spending alot. everything works and can be read but it flickers all the time.
i read on here in a post that these dashes work on 7 volts. i'm not familiar with that.
