Honda's are known to be very cold blooded.
Sounds normal to me.

My 1200 even when it is warm to hot outside typically needs the choke for a short time when first started.

Normal. if i start mine without choke, it will idle for 5 seconds at 300 rpm and then stall.. then i give it choke, start it and will hold 900 rpm, after one minute i can release the choke and wont stall but will idle very low, i have throttle lock so i just lock it at 1000 rpm till it warms up.

I just finished scoh. the carbs
Just curious what 'scoh.' is...

But anyway, I have to set the choke on my 1100 for about two minutes before it'll run properly.

Normal for mine too.

If it starts cold and keeps running without the choke is when there is a problem. Yours is normal.

Normal on mine.
Half choke for about 30 sec, then off choke.

Mine seldom needs the choke. But it's seldom cold here so maybe that's it.
