I just filled my Goldwing up today and it was nearly $15.00. That's getting a little expensive now. I know all our friends across the pond will say that's still a bargain, but in these parts we're not used to that kind of gas prices. It is currently $2.68/ gal. here.

yes when I bought my '78 new gas was about $.65 per gallon... of course I was earning just over $1000 per month, my honda civic cost $4,000. And (I was a preacher then) I got an extra $25 for doing a wedding or funeral and my wife could go out to a fancy resturant for that.

2.75 So. Ore. Diesel is 2.95! Yikes. Never thot I'd see the day it'd take over 10.00 to fill Wing. 13.00 this morn, at point of low fuel lite coming on. Working on my bycycle, cause it's gonna go over 3.00 soon, and I'm on a limited budget.

If you look at 1970s dollars and compare to today's dollars you'll discover that it's actually cheaper to fill your Wing now than back in the 1970s.

I think gas prices should go up, not down. Maybe it will discourage people from buying and driving those ridiculous SUVs and trucks.

You feel the same about those "ego machines" as I do, looks like. And you are right, actually, about the price. Still, when there's not much cash flow, it makes me nervous.

Well, I know I didn't vote for GW Bush. Hmmmmm, let's see.... President is an oil man. Vice President is an oil man.........

But this great site isn't and shouldn't be about politics so I better stop there.

Why not run your van on vegetable fat? ... They call it biodiesel here.

Yep, and he just signed an energy bill that increased subsidies for the oil industry - on top of $1000 subsidies that each taxpayer already pays to big oil every year. And the oil industry is now making record profits! Are people not seeing this?

As an American taxpayer why am I helping the a*****e with the SUV down the street fill his gas tank to the tune of $1000 a year? Maybe it's just me, but I think there's something wrong with that. Especially at a time when global warming is such a big threat and affordable gas is due to run out in 30 years or so.

I thought my $10.05 was bad filling up my 83 today. :grinner: This was down it South Carolina where the gas is usually 7cents a gallon cheaper. :grinner:I had never broke the $10.00 mark before. :grinner::grinner::grinner: Gas prices ranged from $2.39 in North Carolina to $2.23 in South Carolina.:grinner::grinner::grinner:

Gore said the "Combustion engine" is more dangerous and destructive than the "Atom bomb", he would have took gas to $15 a gal. to force Alternative engines on the market oh yea he also said he invented the "Internet"!Maybe they'll sell more "GoldWings" now, that's cool!I better stop there!:baffled:

Cry... cry... If you can't pay you can't play! I have a great bike and lots of neat things, there's a hell of a lot of people around who don't have much of anything. I don't give a damn what gas costs, it will always be the cheapest thing I put in my scoot and I'll ride it until the body or wallet give out with out bitching how much it costs. I don't want to sound like one of those guys that crys about the cost of jet fuel for his Gulfstream or the cost of mooring that 100' yacht.

It's not often i agree with exavid, but what he says is 100% correct. :clapper:I remember many years ago queueing with my little Honda 50 for petrol :crying: and when you reached the pumps the guy would say 1gal only. :whip: It's cheap at any price when you can get it. :weightlifter:
