my 88 has a seperate cb and a relay box that interfaces into a connector near the cover where cb control head would be.

A Uniden PC-22 remote transceiver all control functions on the mic.
Should note that PO cut the bottom of the left fairing pocket out to accomodate the radio, but that also makes it easy to get the mike out of the weather, just slip it under the snap cover

It was on the bike when i got it.
Somehow it's a plug and play setup in that the box must toggle audio between radio or cb depending on the what the relay is doing. i did play with using this for a ipod input too. (Used cb with squelch open and connected headphone of ipod to audio input jack that the cb would use.) Worked but will probably go with a modulator or cassette adaptor.
