The front brake lever on my 95 at times feels like I am going across some rumble strips. It is happening more frequently now. Brake performance does not seem to be effected as I get sure, firm stops. Any ideas?

Verify that the Gap is correctly set, between the front brake calipers and the rotor... If it's not, then the caliper may actually be contacting the rotor/bolts giving the tappity-tap sound.

The Gap is set by loosing the pinch bolts on the front axle, and then moving the fork one way or the other (side-to-side) to open/close the gap.
