1500 CB not transmitting

Went on a group ride yesterday with guys with cb's. I could hear them, but they could not hear me.
My wife could hear me through her headset. I had the radio and cb coming through the speakers and when i pushed the ptt button the radio cut out like it is supposed to .With that said, i am pretty sure it is not my headset and it seems that my ptt button is working also.
What is my next step in troubleshooting? If my antenna has lost ground could i hear, but not transmit?

Connect an SWR meter to it and check it. That will tell you if the transmitter in the CB is actually doing anything.

Yes, it happened on my '99 Wing.

had similar problem with my 87 aspy, turned out to be tx switch pressing in normal would not tx while pressing slowly in tx was ok watch tx indicator on head unit if this is the case fo you cleaning switch is poc:action::waving:
