Is there some way to defeat the 75 MPH Cruse control lock limit?

Howdy Gunny,

What year and model do you have?

My 95 Aspencade doesn't have that limitation.

I should go play with it and see where the cutout is though.

But I will have to wait for the snow to melt some and the salt trucks die.

I did come across that on a car I bought for the wife a few years ago.

Seems the designers thought it was unsafe to let you set the cruise control at any speed higher than 100MPH.

GO Figure.

The will of the few protecting the many. AGAIN.

Someone should be along with a proper answer for you though.

Ohhh And Hey!

There was a recent discussion about that and a posted 'work-around/fix'.

That fix was for late model 1500's. His profile shows a 1200.

:baffled: He must have just updated his profile, as there was no info on what model he was referring to, as demonstrated by Mohawk's opening question.

As to my reply, - Never Mind. :D :cheeky1::cheeky1:

Me and the Warden (Wife) tour alot, I noticed that the cruise control has an upper limit and also a low limit,It wont come on under 15 or 20 or something like that and it annoyed me to no end.

i put on a Vista Cruise Control throttle lock, It goes on your handle bar before the grip and you operate it with your thumb,It can be put on at any speed and it solved the problems of the factory set limits. You use it by itself not with the factory cruise.

Do a search on the web for it and see what you think,Its only around 15 bucks and saves you fiddling with the stock wiring and cruise computer.

Hope this helps, P.S. We call it the (poor mans cruise control).

Got my shop completed and now I am starting to work on my cruise problem, I have checked everything that I could get to externally now I am tearing down the whole thing to do a complete diagnostic test. Maybe now I can find the problem and repair it.
