got'r done....finally

flushed out all the dirty oil, replaced bushings and seals

used a 20" section of 1 1/2" pvc pipe cut 3/4" the way up on BOTH sides to drive the seals in place

im bad!:bow:

thanks for all the help you guys provide here:waving:

after removing the front wheel and fenders,

drain the forks by removing the drain bolts on the antidive assembly

loosen the top tree bolts to enable you to loosen the fork caps (do not remove the caps at this point)

break loose the 6mm fork bolt under the bottom of each fork slider with a long alllen socket. i did this by sticking a #2 long phillips screwdriver through one of the clamp holes to hold the slider steady while breaking it loose.

loosen the bottom tree bolts holding the fork tube in place, it will slide right out. BE PREPARED TO CATCH IT.

then remove the top fork cap bolt...WARINING! THE BOLT IS HELD UNDER EXTREME SPRING TENSION. YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE A PROJECTILE FLYING!

after that remove the bottom fork bolts, dust wiper on the top of the slider tube, and the circlip holding everything together.


using the fork tubes as a slide hammer, pull the tubes against each other till they seperate.

youll see the slider bushings, washer, fork oil seal and wiper on the fork tube. remove those WATCHING THE ORDER OF REMOVAL

i cleaned the fork tubes and sliders with kerosene and set them aside to dry

the new oil seals gets placed with the lettered side FACING UP

after that its the reverse order of assembly

a FACTORY honda manual really helps in this instance
