1500 handlebar replacement

I need handlebars that come backcloser to driver. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a 96 1500

Yea scooter i agree with you on the handlebars mine are a little to far for me too.

Have you done the obvious and slackened the clamp and rotated the bars back a bit?

One thing I might add. Be careful about rotating the bars back too far because if you like to use the radio cover, if you rotate too far, you won't be able to lock the handle bars to the left. The fittings underneath the left switchings might bind and not allow you to rotate far enough to the left to lock them.

"IF" you have an acetylene torch you can heat bend them bars. Now mine are where I want 'em & miss everything, even the windshield at full lock.

I did test the strength after bending by laying over the bike & picking it up by the bars. Them bars are thick & took a bit more heat and strength to bend than standard bar size.

BUT I did buy an Ebay replacement bars before heat bending, just in case. :cool:
