I usually get 25,000 - 30,000 miles out of a set of Dunlops by riding sensibly and keeping tire pressures at 41 psi. I replaced the Dunlop 2's with Dunlop 3's and immediately noticed the 3's were louder. I recently pulled the front E3 off after 20,000 miles (still had about 1/3 of tread left) because I got tired of it howling with the slightest lean. Replaced it with an Avon Venom X (my first Avon) and I am very happy with it. The Avon tire handles much better than the E3 and eliminated the top heavey "fallover" feeling at parking lot speeds.

The rear E3 is very noisy also but only has about 10,000 miles on it but tires are so expensive, I'll have to run it a while longer. I was on another board earlier and noted several people who have found side-to-side splits in their E3s between 13,000 and 15,000 miles, so I'll have to keep an eye on mine, too. Whenever I do replace it, I'll use an Avon Venom X.

37,512 klm - 22,507 miles on my last Elite III, and that is pretty much all highway hauling a trailer.

Also....didn't seem to have the EliteIII whine on the one I put on this year?:?
