1500 Side stand too short

I have found ever since I installed progressive air shocks (416s) that the bike leans a little too much when on the side stand. Does anyone know if a slightly longer one can be had? Thanks

I think the aftermarkets are all either the same or shorter. I remember a gl1500 owner here with that problem and he was able to bend the stand by applying oxy-acetylene to the top part. He bent it to a steeper angle so the bike stood up more.

Possibly adding a shoe/piece to the bottom of the stand might help ( JB Weld ) :waving::waving:

You might inquire at: http://www.vencowings.com

Seems I remember back awhile, aftermarket sidestand extension foot was offered by one of theaccessory companies. Jim at Venco is very knowledgeable about this stuff. If you cannot contact him viainternet, try: 603-435-5151. TTFN.....Old Tom

I have a stock side stand from a 1991 , you could modify that so you get it right before wreaking you current stand. $20 including usps ground in cont. usa david keith wingdavid

I carry 2 small pieces of plywood, one 1/2 inch and one 1/4 inch thick to throw down and plant the side stand on in soft conditions or hot asphalt...works for me

Add a chrome sidestand boot but cut off the heel tang if you don't want leg fillet like I got.

Raises the bike and gives a better footprint on bad surfaces.
