Morning,
This past week I had been having intermittent problems starting the Wing.
This only popped up now and then in the last year and it was on my To-Do List. But I never got around to it as there was always something more pressing. Well finally one day it was happening everytime I started the old girl. And a couple of times it was embarrassing as the Hardley Crew started commenting.

So I started at Square one and pulled EVERYTHING apart and stated cleaning and checking connections. Started with Battery Cables and Battery Test. I Pulled apart every wire connection and cleaned them with a wire brush and contact cleaner, and tightened and squeezed all the slid on connections.

The Shop looked like a Tupperware Explosion. I had plastic body panels everywhere.

So finally after 3 hours and I still had this intermittent starting problem,
I pulled apart the Handle Bar Switch. I found what a pain it would be to remove the starter button and decided to squirt WD-40 into the Switch from the top and from the Button Side. All while working the switch.
I then blew everything out with compressed air with a rag wrapped around the switch housing.

Damn Thing works perfect now. Go Figure.
A 5 second fix after 3 hours of troubleshooting and fixing.
I am never that lucky, that the easy fix is the right one.

Been 3 days now and it is still great.

I am just posting this to maybe save someone else the trouble.

Ohh, and good luck getting both Throttle Cables back on Throttle.
Must be trick to it and I will have to hunt it up. But I had already put the Tupperware back together by then and didn't want to go to the Carburetor End.

Have a GREAT Week,

Mohawk

That is EXACTLY the post I was hunting for.
I did 3 or 4 searches on the forum but that never came up and I do remember seeing it before. But didn't know if it was this forum or not.

Thanks Pal.

I have now printed it out and added it to my notebook.
