Our 1500's tach started reading about twice as much as it shoud, no matter what speed we are going.
I know the tach is electrical but where does it pick the pulse.
The bike runs fine just that the tach reads high.

Any ideas???

I know this sounds strange, but check the coolant level. A member of another forum had this happen to them and when they topped off the system everything was normal.
The Wings have a sensor in the water jacket that will cause the tachometer to read double if the water level is low.
The above was posted at another site.

Checked the water level this morning, everything was full.
Guess I will look for another tach.
THANKS

Had you looked a the electrical circuit could there be any bad connection in the bike please keep us informed or the evolution of te repairs. BTW i dont beleive in coolant level,,,,, I think a level light would have been in the dash if it was the case. Now that beeing said if by checking or ajusting the level you move or wiggel some wires or harness THAT I BEILEVE....could be a temporary fix ........
