I looked for this answer, didn't see one on a search.
Is there room to fit a 160/80-16 tire on the 1100 rear?

YAH-yah, bungy cord it to the trunk. HA-ha.

Not on a stock 1100.....the swingarm is too narrow. If you check the stock swingarm, driveshaft side to tire clearance you will see there is no room to go wider then the 140/90-16.


Modifications have been done though...
I saw a post on another site (sorry no link, I'm on the road using my phone, and it's on the desktop in storage) someone put a 1500 swingarm, rear dif, wheel, bags and trunk on an 1100 across the pond. He modified the fairing too. Sharp looking bike when it was finished. Anything is possible if you have the time, talent and materials.

The steering head bearings are the same so you could modify the front end with the 1500 steering stem, forks, wheel, fender, brakes......

Again time, talent, materials ....or lots of money to throw away paying someone else to do it.
