1500 windshield retainer rattle

Grab the top of the windshield and try shifting it back and forth, if it wiggles you can adjust the clamps that pull it tight. If you remove the mirrors and looktoward the bottom of the mirror mounting area you will see a screw in a slot. By raising the windshield locking lever and moving the screw forward in the slot you can tighten the clamping action. Another possibility is the chrome bezel below the windshield isn't clipped in in the lower center.

Paul is right. Besides, I always though the aftermarket shields were a bit thicker than the Honda one. The ones I've seen look thicker.

The Tulsa is a tad thicker, not sure about Firecreek though. Do what Paul says and adjust the tension, that should fix the problem either way.

The rattle wasn't the shield, though I did notice that the outboard shield retainers on each side remain "loose" even with the screws tight against their shoulders. I duct taped those just to make sure they didn't rattle.

My rattle was from the interfaces between the shelter, fairing pockets and fairing. I eliminated it by removing the pockets and sticking 1/4 thick foam weatherstripping around the underneath perimeter of each pocket, then putting it all back together. Bob
