Can u tell me if the frame is the same from a 92 1500SE to a 09 1800 for the purposes of putting a trailer hitch on? Wondering if one from a 1800 will fit a 1500?

No, nothing much about an 1800 is the same as a 1500.

Some of the 1800 cheapie hitches could have tabs added, but would end up being attached to saddlebag frames. Not so good. Go with a quality hitch for 1500.
