rtying to replace my windshield myself here,, all was going good till i got to the screws that hold it on,, 3 out of the 5 wont budge,, the retainer nut actually spins,, any suggestions?

i got lucky here,, at least i was buying a new windshield.. i cut the taps below it oulled the old one off,, got behind it with a pry bar and use vise grips on the screw heads,, finally got them all free,, thanks for your help
