Hi everyone, my friends 2001 1800 is not charging, a volt meter on the altenator shows only 7 volts, could this be sticking brushes, the bike has less than 20,000 miles, and it looks like the altenator wont come out without removing a lot of stuff, if anyone has removed an altenator from an 1800 how hard a job is it,

did this on my 1500 and it was not too bad of a job, but the 1800 looks too tight,

thanks for any advice.

The 1800 alternators are poorly made Chinese junk and they can fail at low mileage. They are hard to remove,be prepared tospend about a day stripping the parts out of the way.
