Ok here is a problem a friend of mine has with his 1800 wing,,there is a short blast of 5 beeps going off every 5 mins when he is driving the bike ,,the same beep you get when you press a button on the radio ,,He has already checked for a stuck button ,,,It is a european spec without a cb,,,It started about a week ago and it was only now and again ,but now it is every 5 mins ,,and no it is not an alarm clock:):)any ideas would be welcome..Cheers Ciaran

I have just asked him that and he says he never has it off it is always on ,,But he is going to try it with it off and see what happens ,,I will let you know ...Ciaran

Ciaran, you can turn the audio beep off permanently by pushing the mode (right side)knob 5 times, then turning it to either have the beep on or off. This is for a US model with no CB, I'm guessing it's the same for the UK models.

That was the first thing he tried ,,the beep is turned off ,,but the mysterious beep is still going .....cheers Ciaran

Hey wexman :leprechaun:This is a new system that Honda has installed on the:18red:

When the rider hears these 5 beeps :whip: that indicates that his frame is cracked :crying:and his :18red:will be recalled A.S.A.P.

No Redwing, I think you got it wrong, it's the new factory installed Deer Alert System.:D

Is the auto-volume control (AVC) turned on? If the beep is turned on as well I think you get the beeps while the avc is working. I'm not 100% sure of this as my beep is always off, but one of you can easily check this.

That's a new problem to me Ciaran. I've scoured all teh gl1800 forums and not a single post about it, the closest is those with CB beep issues. Yellowwings suggetion makes sense, let us know what happens.

*sigh* wish I had an 1800...

I have a once-in-a-while beep as well on my '85 1200a when I turn off the bike. I've noticed that the horn emits a short bleat like I've just stuttered on the horn button. Also, my radio is starting to change stations when I switch the bike back on. Methinks I smell a gremlin...

Hey wexman :waving:It's no bloody wonder it was beeping :realshocked: that could have caused the frame to crack, and the :18red:recalled.
