1800 Gold wing noise

I just bought a 1800 and have never rode one before. Are they quiet or can you hear a cricket noise when you are going about 60 MPH. It sounds a lot different than my 1500.

Welcome to the realms of the 1800's
I recently upgraded from a 1500 and wondered what the noise was and was told that because of the tight manufacturing tollerances in the gearing that you will experience a whine like a turbo charger - this is perfectly normal ( so I'm told)

I thought the whining sound from the fuel injectors, it makes the bike sound like sewing machine, lol.

My Shadow 1100 had a unique sound like the cam needed oil and my GL1800 also has the whine others described. I find it best to turn up the radio and/or IC volume and just enjoy the ride.
