How do I disable the air bag when working on the bike. wish it were not there should I disconnect and forget it. It's new and I will be adding my own acc. and servicing.

I wouldn't worry about it, slim chance you could do anything to set it off.

Most owners just hang it up out of the way when changing the air filter etc.

Your best and safest bet is to follow Honda's service procedure. SRS is a sophisticated system and you absolutely can accidently set them off. Usually the procedure involves disconnecting the battery and waiting a specified time to allow the reserve power to dissipate. You can then safely disconnect the airbag. Leaving it hang is a very bad idea. When you set it down the safest way is to keep the top side facing up.
