Hey guys I’m slowly working on my wing. The gas tank had to come out because it was so cruddy inside I also decided to pull the engine and clean up and paint the frame some. When I tried to get the electrical connector apart behind the left side cover that goes to the alternator I had a devil of a time. I finally had to lightly clamp some vice grips on it and then carefully pry them apart. The reason they wouldn’t come apart was the plastic inside, between the connectors was melted and the terminals must have shorted togethersometime. The bike has had some wires replaced in the past so I don’t know if it was because of this or some other problem. The wires going into both halves of the connector look sound its just inside the connector that doesn't look good. Now that I have the engine out are there some easy tests that I can do on the alternator assembly? Simple checks I might be able to do but I just had shoulder surgery so it will be awhile before I’m able to work on it again.
