Hey guys, I want to enter the darkside with my 80 gl 1100. i like the hydro edge. but if anyone has done this to an 80 interstate, let me know what tire and size you used. im worried about clearence and the spedo being off too much.

Ilooked a couple years ago and the only tire was an antique replica sold by www.cokertire.com I think it was a 5.00x17
I had the same questions but never pursued it. Doug

Don't know about the "Dark Side" stuff, but your speedometer is gear driven from the front axle. Any tire changes at the rear will not affect it.

Changes to the front tire size will affect the speedometer accuracy. Increasing front tire diameter will result in a slightly slower speedometer reading at any speed. Conversely, a smaller tire diameter will increase indicated speed from actual speed. :action:
