Hello everyone. I am a new goldwing owner. I have read alot of the information that has been posted and I am impressed. The rear drive unit on my gl1100 feels warm after a short ride. Just wondering if this is normal. What I mean by norm is warm to the touch...no noises.

warm or even hot to the touch is normal...

Yup, no worries there - it is normally warm after running.

If your bike is new to you, and you're at all worried, you can replace the gear oil in it - especially if you don't know the last time it was done. It's really a simple procedure.

Thanks for the info. Just trying to get the wing up to par. I replaced the gear oil and greased the splines. I am getting ready to ride out west on the wing about 1500 to 1800 miles.
