1981 GL1100 tire size

Hi all,
I'm in need of a rear tire for my 81 GL1100 the spec calls for a 130/90- 17
there is a guy selling a pair of really new Dunlops on the rims from and 82 that was wrecked or something. The size of the two dont match exactly. The front is 120/90-18 and the rear is 140/90- 16. Per my book these are spec on an 82. Can i interchange them to a 81 or will i have problems.

To put the 82 rear tires on you will need to change the swingarm as well. If you change to the 82 swingarm you can then use either wheel/tire combination.

I think the front fender is slightly different and needs changing to fit the 18" front wheel with the wider tire.



Your rpms will go up too if you go for the later wheels/tires. The speedo will also read incorrectly.
