I have a 1982 Interstate with about 80,000 miles on it. I say about because my second speedo has died he same horrible death as the first, grinding and needle jumping all over the place. I have decided to go with a Trailtech Vapor digital dash but would like to keep the self canceling feature of the turn signals. Does anyone know what the speedo sends to the turnsignal switch to cancel? I should be able to replicate it electronically if I knew what the signal was.
Also, what forks will interchange with the 82? I know the upper tubes are the same OD from 80 to 83 but I am wondering about the brake mounting and axle. Would the TRAC forks from an 83 fit and if so is it possible to connect the existing brake system to the TRAC?
