Hi all,

Got what seems to be a bit of a problem and I don't know the answer at the moment. I have tried all over for a replacement disc for my 1983 GL1100I and I can't find one anywhere. Not even on Ebay. Have considered having the one on the bike skimmed but not too sure as to whether it would be a safe direction to go.

Must have tried all of the UK.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I sold my "82 earlier this year, I agreed to sell it certified. I was surprised to find that it needed a new rear rotor. Found one here:

Fortunatley, I had some business in the area and was able to arrange to drop in and pick it up, so I didn't have to pay mailing costs.

Don't forget, most, if not all of the GL1200 rear rotors also fit the '83. Gives you a wider base for parts location.

Like Silicon sam said the 1200 rear rotors do interchange with 83. I am running an 84 1200 rotor on my 83 1100. Perfect fit. Also a bit better design, wears more evenly on both sides than the original. hard to find a good used 83 disk but 1200's are common used and cheaper too. Have also used a new EBC rotor , a litte high priced but great rotors

Many thanks guys,

Tried EBC at their Head Office in Northampton (about 40 miles from where I live) and a new one will be with me by tomorrow via courier. If its not the right one they have another that may fit. The price wasn't bad either, £182.48p including 20% vat and delivery.

The disc was a MD 1082 if anyone else wants one. Very knowledgeable and helpful company.

I will also bear in mind your comments about 1200 being much the same.

Much appreciated for your help.
