Just did the brakes on 1983 GL1100I and looking to rebuild the carburetors next. Starts, runs for maybe 2 min at idle then stops and will not run at idle again. Anything else I should check before rebuilding the carbs? Suggestions on kits / parts ? Is Randakk worth the price?

I would check if it's getting enough fuel to the carbs and if it's actually stopping because of the carbs. On an 1100 Randakks kits are the only way to go. To get all that stuff from Honda would cost 2x as much and the other aftermarket stuff is mostly junk.

Sorry for the pause in replying, appreciate your response! First thing I did was cleaned the tank, had some minor rust, but cleaned up well replaced the fuel filter while I was at it. Second, checked the fuel pump, had some corrosion there as well, the diaphragm was still intact, so cleaned it up and put it back together. Seems to be working, but did not check pressure or flow volume. The tank has a strong vacuum and gasps when the cap is removed, should I replace the gas cap? This stll leads me to believe there is a good chance the carbs may have ingested some of the debris. Time for a carb rebuild? Your thoughts!

A couple of my 1500s would slow down to a crawl at speed. One time it was bad gas, Another time I soaked gas cap in Seafoam, overnight, and blew out with compressed air the next day. Got both of them to run right eventually. .Try removing the gas cap and see if that solves the problem. of idling at start up. Could also be a failing fuel.pump? Float sett5ings? .Lots of possblties here
