Hi all, Had an 02 wing for a few years but it sat too much so I sold it and got a hot tub. I recent got the fever again and found a 1984 Interstate in nice shape. New tires and the guy who sold it said he did the brakes too. I am now after only 40 miles having an issue with the brakes however and would like to ask someone experienced with working on brakes for advice. The other day they started dragging. I noticed when I stopped at the bank that the bike wanted to stop when I pulled the clutch in. I got the tool kit out and started pulling covers and looking around. When I pulled the cover off the front brake something moved underneath it like it was stuck and I dislodged it. I then could roll the bike freely. 10 miles to get home and the last 1/2 mile or so they started dragging again and it got quite bad before I made it into the garage. Rotors were hot. I have a service manual and am good mechanically but have never done brakes. I thought I would just go through them according to the manual but I would like to know what could be the cause for this. I believe the problem is associated with the rear brake only as it was rear brake and front right that got hot. Any comments would be welcome.
