I finally took my 1984 GL1200 for a road test. Everything goes great except the bike seems to hesitate / bog in the beginning of acceleration in every gear. It's not all the time, but it's pretty consistent. Any ideas on what I should do first to try and resolve this issue?

I bet the bike sat for extended period of time and the low speed circuit is varnished. If so go on a test ride and add significant choke. Bet that makes the problem better. Very common and most try Seafoam or other additive to clean it up. They seem to have mixed success. If you decide to go that route add a full can when the tank is 1/4 full so it is strong. Might need more that one treatment. .
