I need to remove my carbs to rebuild them. I have all of the lower fairings off of my bike. I also have the air box off of the top. I can see the carbs but cannot get them to release from the intake boots. I can't see anything on top that is limiting them. Is there some trick? Do I have to remove the intakes? Any advice would be much appreciated. I am ready to get this old cadillac cruising again.

Thanks guys. I am going to give it a try today. Will I need any extra gaskets/o-rings than what comes standard in a carb kit because I am taking the intakes loose?

Okay. This isn't my first ever carb rebuild but it is starting to feel like it. I can't seem to locate where all of the small o-ring are in this dang carb. I took it apart, at least I thought I completely disassembled it with the exception of the choke, because I could not get the connector seperated from the choke plunger. But, much to my surprise, I did not find any o-rings except for the float bowl. I removed carbs, took one apart. Removed float bowl, top cover, took out jets, float valve, air screw, basically everthing that unscrews. WHAT am I OVERLOOKING?

Can I find a parts explosion somewhere?

Thanks a million tricky! I did not think about them being used for the cross-tubes. What a dummy I am. I must have been getting over heated and impatient. This gulf coast heat wave is getting to me.

Any advice on where to get a manual? I would love to have one this weekend and there is no way to order one so I can get things together and free my shop back up.

Thanks gentlemen for all of the help and I wish I could send some heat up your way. We have been having plenty to go around for this time of year.
