I am looking for production numbers for 1985 limited edition wings. I have a limited trike and like to find out how many were produced, both regular and triked. Thanks:praying:

I'm not sure of the exact number but it was around 5,000 GL1200 Limited Editions that were produced. I bought one right off the showroom floor and kept it until about 3 years ago. A very nice and reliable machine indeed. Loved that fuel injection.
Honda did not build any triked Goldwing Limited Editions. Any you see triked have been done by somebody else.

Sure seems like there must have been more than 5000 of them, considering how many still show up on forums and Craigslist after all these years. I have one of them, it had been pretty well trashed when I got it, I put it back together as best I could to make it ridable. I have mixed feelings on the fuel injection. It was an excellent system when new, but has a lot of components that tend to deteriorate with age, especially if the bike was parked outside in the sun all it's life like mine was, and since it was only made 2 years, parts for it are pretty scarce, while if it had been carbed, carbs and parts for them would probably be readily available.

I'm still waiting for Honda to make a Goldwing trike. Harley did, and I can't see Honda letting them get away with that. Especially considering that trikes are so popular. Surely Honda has noticed the Goldwing trike aftermarket.

You won't see a newly manufactured Honda trike of any kind due to the settlement terms of the lawsuit that was brought against them back in the late '80s about the stability of the 3 wheel ATV's. I think one of the terms was to prevent Honda from building ANY thee wheeled vehicle....
