1985 LTD blinking time zone and clock stay on all the time??

Does anybody have a 1200 LTD they bought new? Do they all do this from day one??

My85 limited has the map display and clock on all of the time. 24/7

It seems that the blinking time zone and clock should shut off with the key. You would think a bike that is fuel injected and can tell you your mpg and gallons in the tank would be advanced enough to shut off the clock so you don'tdrain the battery.

It seems to have a stuck relay or contact somewhere.

If I drive it fairly often, it's ok and does not drain too low, but still it doesn't seem right..:?

I think that's normal.

It is normal...My 85 ltd does the same.I think it was made to irratate us..Or at the very least ponder why?..lol

Yep normal for the LTD. If you drive weekly you should not have any battery problems. If it is to set for 2 weeks or longer I would consider a battery tender.

I have the SE-i '86, does the same. It takes a really long time to pull the battery down on mine. Mine has sat for 6 weeks here and there and it still cranks up. I don't use a battery tender, probably should butdon't. This summer it has sat for long periods of time becasue of the rain we have had plus I have two bikes.

The LCD circuit draws very little current and as long as the bike is ridden or started and allowed to run on a regular basis, this will offset the drain this circuit causes.
