socman, do you have the procedure for testing the pulse generators or do you know for certain that they are not functioning properly? I'd hate to see you spend good money on something you may not need.

Actually Norman, you don't have to take the engine out to replace them on an 84 and you don't have to remove the engine to replace the clutch either. You just remove the back tire assembly and swingarm to gain access.
