1986 GL1200 Speedometer Gear.

I have a 86 GL1200 with a broken speedometer :(

I thought it may have just been the cable 1st so I replaced it. Come to find out it's the actuall speedometer gear.

Honda has quit carrying the part that I need, I don't want to buy the whole replacement part when all I need is the small gear.



Does anyone have a working gear for sell or know where I can get one?

I can't even find a gear on E-Bay!! Someone please help!?!?!?

I just picked one up off ebay for ~$35. Unfortunately they don't just sell the plastic gear so I had to buy the whole shebang.

Ironically my 83 1100i uses the 1200's gearbox. Just keep looking, another reasonably priced one will pop up.

Hi Chris. I tried finding your posts on the speedometer the other day.I found out the other day the gearboxes are the same but the nylon drive gear is differant. This 84 1200 had a black nylon gear and the 83 had a white one. The 84 had more teeth than the white 83 . Maybe you got the right one but I remember you asking if they were differant a while back. JB
