The negative battery cable itself should hit a splice, then ground in two places.
First ground is the biggie - inside the right lower fairing panel, bolted to the frame you'll see a butt-load of wires all on a common bolt -- this is at the frame member that is just above the rear edge of the right head - you'll have to have the right inner fairing panel off to see this one.
The other location is an engine ground - look for a cable bolted to the back of the tranny case kinda "between" the reverse cables (just above the reverse cables' bellcrank about 6-inches directly above the oil filler hole) - can be seen/touched with the side cover off...
