hello all im new to the form i just bought my 88 1500 and after a day of riding i heard a knocking noice i thought rod bearin at first so i got a broom handle and started listiening all over motor to me the noice is coiming from the tranny just below the alternator has any had problem or what should i do ty

Try sync'ing the carbs first. If they are out of sync it can make a sound very similar to a rod knock. Hope it's nothing more serious than that!

It is the rubber drive cushions on the alt.
This is fairly common and I have replaced them on many
1500s over the years.A simple 30min job!

and this will make a knocking sound cause i only hear it on the back of the engine
