1990 GL1500 Seat Color Question

This is my project I am working on, it's a 1990 GL1500SE, you may have seen it in the New Members Introduction Forum. Still tearing it down to evaluate everything that needs attention, and I am working on the plans for what I would like to do. I have a question on seat color. The bike is painted, I believe, Pacific Pearl White, and the correct seat color would have been Havana Brown. I would like to replace the current seat with one that is the correct color. Does anyone know, what model years came with the Havana Brown, and is Bison Brown close to Havana Brown or is there a big difference? I would like it to match up to the plastics as close as possible. Any info would be appreciated.

Answered one of my own questions today. I looked at some seat backrests listed on ebay, one Bison Brown, and one Havana Brown, and there is a clear difference in color. So it looks like I need to find one that is Havana Brown. I also got a quote from the dealer. $788.99 for a new one, not including the passenger back rest, ouch! Looks like I am going to have to find a nice used one.
One of them is a much darker brown. Can't remember which one but I've seen both at different times.
I agree, the Havana looks more like a chocolate brown, but that is based on looking at a picture, it would be nice to see them in person. So far I have found pictures of the Havana Brown, Bison Brown, Tuscany Red and Romany Red, which all look close. Honda East in Maumee has a Bison Brown, and a Tuscany Red on Ebay, they are close to me, so I may drive down and take a look at them, maybe the Bison Brown will be close enough.

Try looking for just the seat cover to purchase and recover yourself..unless you are looking for an exact Hondaline seatcover. I purchased a new seatcover on Ebay for about $75.00 and replaced it myself. If nothing else...go to an auto re-upholsterer and see what they can do.

this guy on ebay has all the colors....http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-GL150...es&hash=item27d1beafb6&vxp=mtr#ht_3853wt_1161
I guess I'm not in a big hurry just yet, I have a nice seat on the bike just not the correct color. I have thought about buying a seat cover, and recovering mine, but I haven't had good luck with those fitting very well. I have also used a local upholstery shop for some of my snowmobile covers and that is what I may end up doing, at least if I am not happy with the fit, I can have them work on it until I am happy with it.
Ultimately I would like to find a nice OEM seat in the right color, and I really haven't started looking seriously for one, just trying to sort out the differences in color. I will probably take a run down to Honda East and look at the color differences between the Bison Brown, and Tuscany Red, maybe one of those would work just fine, I just need to see the color in person. They said they could order me the correct one, but at $800 for just the seat, it's not what I was looking to spend. Thanks for the tips....Terre

They are very proud of their seats....that is a bit "dear"!!

My Wing is a '96 Pearl White..came with the charcoal seat...really dark gray..almost black. I replace it with a seatcover from ebay..not bad fitment..but could be better, but I also ride with beads. I have an auto upholestry center close by and had thought about getting it redone..but for now it works. Like the loos of what you have on your wing!
Have you tried e-mailing some of the sellers of new OEM seats on ebay to see if they have or can get the color you want?
